Three day immersion experience Jaya Immerse

Day One

Explore the incredible ancient Angkorian Temples and discover the beauty and mystery of Cambodia, and the Khmer empire.

Your morning starts with a tuk tuk ride to the words largest religious monument Angkor Wat.  Lead by a wonderful local guide the stories of the temples will be brought to life.  Discover the history of the Khmer Empire as you explore this incredible temple.

We journey on to the ancient city of Angkor Thom where your guide will lead you though back gates and onto the ancient city walls. Take a short stroll through the jungle along the walls that surround the temples within Angkor Thom.    From here you will start to explore some of the amazing temples within the walls, including the stunning Bayon and famous elephant terrace. 

Under the shade of sprawling trees a hot picnic lunch is served overlooking the moat of Angkor.  Enjoy a delicious hot Khmer lunch, while sitting on mats and soaking up the atmosphere of the Angkor Archeological Park.

After lunch we return to town and journey on to a local Pagoda.  Here your guide will provide insight into Khmer customs and beliefs, and you will have the opportunity to take part in a traditional water blessing with one of the monks at the Pagoda.  This ritual is part of daily life for many Khmer who believe the blessing will help cleanse misdeeds and make way for new beginnings.

Journey back to the hotel.

Day Two 

Journey out of Siem Reap through the rice fields to the village of Kompheim or lady bug village.  Enjoy a guided walk through the village and learn more about the daily life and practices of the local people.  Take a short ox cart ride and meet with a local family.  Along your way you will stop at a local nursery and purchase a fruit tree for your host family.  Once at your host families home you will have the opportunity plant this tree with them and spend a little time getting to know about their life.  Participate in some activities with the family like weaving a thatch panel or participating in the rice plant or harvest, these activities will vary according to the time of year.

We take a short walk to meet another local family where they will prepare a hot Khmer lunch for you.  Enjoy this lunch in the village with the local family.

After lunch we return to the hotel.

At 3.30pm you will be transferred from town to a local village on the outskirts of Siem Reap.  After a short walking tour through a local village, experience a traditional cooking class with a maximum of eight people.  Learn a little of the herbs used to create the authentic Khmer flavours, prepare a cocktail with a Khmer twist, and then cook up a storm all the with help of a knowledgeable local guide and chef.   Your experience includes three courses, and a Khmer cocktail.   Enjoy your creation in a thatched pavilion surrounded by bamboo flares. 

Day three 

Departing Siem Reap early by car we journey to the village of Kompong Khkeang.  Sitting on the incredible Tonle Sap Lake this is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the life of a typical Cambodian fishing village.  Homes tower on stilts, some 10 meters high and others float past you, following the path of the monsoon waters.  This is an authentic experience and a chance to witness some of the incredible daily activities on the lake.

On route we stop to enjoy a picnic lunch.

After Lunch we visit the beautifully carved temple of Banteay Srei.  We journey on to the small but beautiful temple of Banteay Samre.  A fantastic temple often missed by the crowds.We then return to the main park and visit the beautiful Ta Prohm Temple.

Ta Prohm is overrun with ancient tree roots.  Your guide will take you through this beautiful temple and help you to capture some of those iconic photographic moments of temple and tree locked in silent battle.
